In our schools we have a legal and moral obligation to build a culture of child protection and everyone has a role to play in supporting the wellbeing of students. This seminar provides you with the relevant tools and information to ensure student wellbeing at your school.

Cancellation Policy:  All cancellations will incur a $50 administration fee.  Cancellations within 14 days will receive a partial refund only.

She will present case studies and challenge delegates to consider how they would  respond to various legal scenarios.

From students to staff, the impact of these incidents can be far-reaching and challenging.   The diversity of online issues and incidents spans from primary-aged students’ social jostling and conflict through to serious and illegal activities in which students, community, and/or staff maybe involved.

Ilia Lindsay,  Psychology Lead Child & Family Psychologist , Komodo. This workshop examines the information on typical and a-typical student behaviour. We will define what risk behaviour is and explore solution focused strategies for how to manage difficult conversations with solutions.

Jo Robertson, Sex Therapist, The Light Project. School staff operate in loco parentis. This includes addressing sensitive topics related to sexual behaviour, regardless of the student's age. School staff often find themselves required to inform and intervene on behalf of their charges. The scope of this workshop will include a diverse set of topics related to sex, bodies, pornography, and consent. It will equip you to have those difficult conversations when it is appropriate to do so, and how you manage the potential fall-out.
